Regal China

The Regal China Company was founded by Heman Kravitz in Chicago in the late 1920's. They produced several jars for licensed advertising products, including the Kraft Bear, Harris Bank Lion, Quaker Oats jar and Washtub Angel. They were best known for their line of Jim Beam decanters which are still very popular among collectors. Regal was bought out by Royal China and Novelty Company in the 1940's. Although the patent for the popular Little Red Riding Hood cookie jar was issued to Hull, they only produced the blanks. Hull sent the jars to Royal China and Novelty Company to be decorated. Once decorated they were sent back to Hull for distribution. In 1968 Royal China and Novelty Company became a part of the James Beam Distilling Company whom Regal had been producing Jim Beam Bottles for since 1955. The company closed down after 62 years in 1992.
